My rather large german shepard kept falling off the back seat or my new car and was having difficulty extricating herself. She likes to sprawl and was unable to do so comfortably -- until I bought the "Guardian Gear Hammock". It gives her plenty of room by expanding her seat space and there's no way she can get hurt. It's easy to install and my only complaint is that the texture is such that I can hear her rustle about. For the price, it's great. Also -- it has a zipper section which can allow for a passenger to use the actual car seat next to said dog. Good value for the money.
